Very simple Marjanam procedure for Purashcharan of Mantras of Shri Bagalamukhi

Bagalamukhi YantraItems required:

  • Petals of a yellow flower.
  • Bagalamukhi Yantra
  • Vessel of water

Start the ritual in the same way as you would usually start your Mantra Japa session, honouring the Guru, Lord Ganesh, and meditating / contemplating upon Shri Bagalamukhi and carrying out Nyasas, Pancapuja etc.

Say something to the effect of: “Oh Bagalamukhi, I am carrying out Marjanam to the best of my ability for your pleasure  as part of my Purascharan. Please accept my worship”.

Then carry out the ritual. Take the vessel full of water, with petals of yellow flowers sprinkle water on the yantra of Bagalamukhi while chanting the mantra suffixed with Marjayaami.

E.g. if youare doing Purascharan of the mantra “Hlrim”, then each time you do the step, chant “Hlrim Marjayaami” while sprinkling water on the Yantra.

This is to be repeated for 0.1% of the total number of mantras chanted for the Anushtan. If 125,000 mantras were chanted, 125 mantras should be offered while carrying out this ritual.

At the end of each session, ask for forgiveness for any mistakes made in the ritual. Ask Bagalamukhi to accept your worship, infantile though it may be as a Mother would accept a child taking his/her first steps.

Please note – this is a procedure I have used. I am putting it up in case it would help someone and also to preserve it for myself to re-use in the future.

Baglamukhi, Bagala, Bagla, Anushthan, Anushtan, Marjan, Purascharan, sadhana
